Since 2021, electric scooter and balance bike drivers have been included in the category of scooter drivers. In previous years' data, they are included among pedestrians.
Toila municipality merged with Jõhvi municipality in November 2025 - from 2025, data has been summarized with Jõhvi municipality data.

When the accident place by municipality is uncrossed, but county is available, then these are counted in sum of the county. That is the reason, why the total number for these counties are bigger than sum of county's municipalities: Tallinn 2017, Ida-Viru County 2012, Lääne County 2012, Pärnu County 2012, Tartu County 2016 and 2022 and Viljandi County 2014 and 2016.
The dataset provides an overview of road traffic accidents involving casualties and the people killed and injured in these accidents by administrative unit in Estonia. The data are presented as distributions by accidents and by the numbers of killed and injured, grouped by administrative unit, with the administrative division as of 01.01.2018. The dataset enables comparisons between administrative units and the examination of links between road traffic accidents and territorial distribution. The aim of collecting road safety indicators is to support understanding of risks and planning preventive actions in Estonia. Data source: Estonian Transport Administration.
