Definitions and methodology From 2024, all women who are invited can choose between self-sampling and providing the sample at a clinic. 25.03.2026 updated data for 2018-2024.
The dataset gives a statistical overview of invitation activity and participation in cervical cancer screening, incl. the number of individuals eligible for invitation, the number of invitations sent, invitation coverage (as a percentage), the number of invited individuals who participated in screening and coverage among invited individuals (as a percentage), as well as the number and share (as a percentage) of individuals screened via HPV self-sampling, presented by health insurance status. The purpose of the data is to support the organisation and monitoring of screening programmes, to assess target group coverage and participation, to track screening outcomes, and to use the data for evaluating the quality and effectiveness of screening and for epidemiological analyses.
