The dataset provides an overview of new tuberculosis (TB) cases in Estonia. The data are presented by year as the number of new cases and are presented by disease site (including pulmonary and extrapulmonary forms and subcategories based on ICD-10 codes), sex, and age group. The dataset enables comparison of the structure of new TB cases over time and assessment of differences by sex and age group as well as by TB form. The purpose of collecting these data is to provide a comprehensive overview of TB epidemiology and control in Estonia, enabling monitoring of time trends and population groups and supporting planning of TB control measures, health services and prevention activities, as well as evaluation of treatment effectiveness. Data source: Estonian Tuberculosis Register; registry data is processed and analysed by the National Institute for Health Development.
