2004-2007 physicians by sex is based on education based speciality. From 2013, the data is collected by specified occupation. Data is not collected by sex and age for time period 2008-2012.
One person can work under different occupations, thus 'Total health care personnel' is not equal to sum of all the occupations. One person is included in every occupation, where he/she works, but only once in 'Total health care personnel'.
Other special physicians - since 2023 it includes the expert physicians of assesment work ability.
The dataset provides an overview of employed health care personnel in Estonia health care providers. The data are presented by year, sex, age group and occupation (physicians by specialty, dentists by specialty, nurses by specialty, midwives, caring personnel, other healthcare professionals (including various technicians), therapists, support workers, hospital pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, managers). Until 2012, the time point for data is 31st of December. From 2013, the time period for data is November. 2004-2007 physicians by sex is based on education based speciality. The purpose of the statistical report is to provide an overview of the age and sex distribution of health care employees and their workload by occupational group, for statistical use and aggregated reporting.
