The dataset provides an overview of psychiatric day care in Estonia. The dataset presents the number of day-care treatment episodes ending during the calendar year, based on the final clinical primary diagnosis; the data can be viewed by diagnosis (ICD-10) and age group, and the count covers all psychiatric day-care episodes in the calendar year. The purpose of collecting and publishing the data is to provide an aggregated overview of the use of psychiatric day care across diagnostic groups and age groups, supporting service planning, accessibility assessment, and the development of care organisation. Data source: National Institute for Health Development. The data is collected through the annual report 'Mental and behavioural disorders', submitted in A-veeb, the web-based data collection system, by all licensed providers of psychiatric services employing psychiatrists. Data collection is carried out under the Health Services Organisation Act and the regulation of the Minister of Social Affairs.
