The dataset provides a preliminary overview of tuberculosis (TB) incidence in Estonia. The data are presented as preliminary registration data over time by month, which presents new cases of TB, including cases among persons up to 14 years of age, and TB cases in total. The dataset allows for a regional view of TB indicators by county, in larger cities (Tallinn, Tartu, Kohtla-Järve, Narva, Pärnu), and cases diagnosed in prisons are discussed separately. The purpose of collecting these data is to provide a comprehensive overview of tuberculosis epidemiology and control in Estonia, enabling monitoring of time trends and population groups and supporting planning of tuberculosis control measures, health services and prevention activities, as well as evaluation of treatment effectiveness. Data source: Estonian Tuberculosis Register; registry data is processed and analysed by the National Institute for Health Development.
