The dataset provides an overview of perinatal deaths (all, early neonatal deaths (0-6 days), stillbirths) in Estonia. The data is presented by birth weight and gestational age in weeks. The purpose of collecting these data is to process cause-of-death information to assess population health and to plan prevention activities and policies. Data are submitted by physicians and forensic doctors and are compiled via the X-road data exchange layer from the health information system and the Estonian Population Register and, for perinatal deaths, the pregnancy information system.
