The dataset provides an overview of infant (age under 1 year) deaths in Estonia. The data is presented by cause of death. The purpose of collecting these data is to process cause-of-death information to assess population health and to plan prevention activities and policies. Data are submitted by physicians and forensic doctors and are compiled via the X-road data exchange layer from the health information system and the Estonian Population Register and, for perinatal deaths, the pregnancy information system. Data source: Causes of Death Register, National Institute for Health Development.
