Definitions and methodology Since 2008 the data differ from the data published by Statistics Estonia, because Statistics Estonia publishes deaths according to Population Registry in period 2008-2015. Since 2016 Statistics Estonia is using residency index (data is gathered from many registers) and NIHD according to last residence known by physician.
28.06.2021 updated 2020 data due additional data from the Estonian Forensic Science Institute.
3.08.2021 updated 1989-2007 data on diseases of the blood and blood-forming organs and endocrine, nutritional and metabolic diseases, as well as cases of accidental poisoning for 2013 and 2018.
