The survey participants who were 50 years old or older, as well as younger and who planned to have (more) children, were not asked about barriers for having children.
The dataset shows the intensity of barriers for having children (on a 26-point scale) by gender and ethnicity of the respondent. Those up to 49 years old and those who did not want to have (more) children were included. The purpose of collecting data from the Estonian Family and Fertility Survey is to ensure a systematic overview of indicators related to the family and household life of the Estonian population, in order to be able to monitor time trends and differences between population groups, and to support family and population policy and research planning.
