The data shows the extent to which statements about children are agreed with by the educational attainment, gender and age group of the respondent. The statements are as follows: It is important that children take part in extracurricular activities that engage and stimulate them in addition to school lessons; It is important to find the best educational opportunities for children even before they start school; It's important to regularly interact with children on their level (e.g. playing with small children); Children should be the center of their parents' attention; Children's needs should come before those of their parents; Children's daily schedule should take priority over the needs of their parents; Parents never get a mental break from their children, even when they are physically apart; Raising children is a really demanding job; Being a parent means that there is almost never time for oneself. The purpose of collecting data from the Estonian Family and Fertility Survey is to ensure a systematic overview of indicators related to the family and household life of the Estonian population, in order to be able to monitor time trends and differences between population groups, and to support family and population policy and research planning.
