Definitions and methodology
The dataset contains an overview of treatment cases in Estonia for insured persons from European countries by main specialty and patient sex for 2015-2019. Data are presented by specialty, and sex (total, men, women). The dataset enables identifying specialties in which cross-border service use is more frequent and how patterns change over time, supporting monitoring of service needs and care pathways. The purpose of collecting data on cross-border treatment cases is to ensure a systematic overview of the specialty distribution and target groups, in order to support health service planning and monitoring of financing. Data source: Estonian Health Insurance Fund
