Definitions and methodology Statistics of treatment cases of Europeans in Estonia take into account the data of 36 countries of the European region: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Spain, Netherlands, Croatia, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, France, Sweden, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Great Britain, Switzerland, Denmark, Czech Republic and Hungary, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus.
The dataset contains an overview of treatment cases in Estonia for insured persons from European countries. Data are presented by country, covering European-region countries. The dataset enables monitoring the volume of cross-border treatment cases over time and by country, to support service-use monitoring and understanding of health care needs related to international mobility. The purpose of collecting data on cross-border treatment cases is to ensure a systematic overview of their volume and structure, in order to support planning of health services and monitoring of financing.
