The dataset provides an overview of the economic activity of Estonian health care providers, i.e. costs related to the provision of health care services and the financial year result over time, in Estonia. Data are presented in thousand euros and can be viewed by county of the health care provider (including Tallinn and Tartu as separate cities). Costs and the financial year result are presented by cost type (2003-2010). Reports are submitted via a web-based system. Data are collected using the reporting form “Economic Activity in Health Care”, submitted by all independent health care providers regardless of owner type or legal form, aggregated across all their subordinate units/branches. Institutions whose main activity is not the provision of health care services report only the revenues, costs and fixed assets related to the provision of health care services. The report is completed on an accrual basis. Self-employed persons complete the report either on an accrual or cash basis. The purpose of data collection is to obtain a comparable overview of the economic activity of all health care providers, including revenues and costs, fixed assets, and investments in fixed assets.
