Definitions and methodology County - location of the service provider.
The dataset contains an overview of emergency abdominal surgery cases in Estonia from a regional perspective. Data are presented over time by year by diagnoses (ICD-10), and the indicators include patients, operated and non-operated cases, where results are presented by provider county. The dataset enables examination of emergency surgery volumes by diagnosis and provider location and monitoring of time trends. The purpose of compiling the data is to support assessment of accessibility and regional differences in emergency surgery services and planning of the service network.
