Seasonal adjustment

Adjusted seasonally and with the number of working days

In case of seasonally and working-day adjustment the differences in the number of working days of quarters and regularly recurring seasonal factors have been removed.
The dataset provides an overview of short-term changes in dentists’ in-person appointments across quarters, using seasonal and working-day adjustment. Seasonally adjusted data can be compared with non-seasonally adjusted data. The data are presented quarterly for 2008-2016 and are presented by the county of the service provider’s location (Tallinn, Tartu city and defence forces separately), in order to support quarter-based comparisons in a context where service volume is influenced by seasonal fluctuations and the distribution of working days. The purpose of the adjusted time series is to provide a more comparable picture of changes in service use over time and across regions. Data source: dental care reporting (the “Dentist Report”); data are compiled, analysed and published by the National Institute for Health Development.
