Definitions and methodology County - data on immunization coverage are distributed based on the child's place of residence from 2022, and data from previous years up to and including 2021 are distributed by the location of the healthcare provider.
* Until 2021, the data of Harju and Ida-Viru County did not include the coverage of immunization of children in Tallinn and Narva. From 2022, the data of Harju and Ida-Viru County include all children together with the coverage of immunization for children in Tallinn and Narva.
Starting from 2022, the data on children's immunization coverage has been taken from the health information system, but unfortunately the data coverage may be lower than reality, because not all data have been submitted to the health information system. On 8.05.2026, all data for 2022-2024 was corrected and data for the city of Tartu was added from 2022.
On 4.06.2026, all data for 2022-2024 was corrected.
The dataset provides an overview of immunization coverage among 2-year-old children. The data is presented by year, disease against which the vaccination was carried out, and county, and the unit of measurement is percent. Starting in 2022, immunization coverage data will be presented by the child's place of residence. Until 2021 (including), data was reported based on the location of the vaccinator. The purpose of collecting immunization data is to provide a regular and comparable overview of immunization coverage to support surveillance and the organization of immunoprophylaxis. Data source: Starting in 2023, the Health and Welfare Information Systems Centre (TEHIK) will submit to the Health Board a report on the immunization coverage of children and adolescents as of the end of the previous year at the beginning of each year, in a previously agreed volume and time. Until 2022, healthcare providers providing immunization submitted to the Health Board an annual report 'Immunization Coverage Among Children, Students, and Adolescents' at the beginning of January.
