The dataset shows hospital procedures performed on newborns during the first week of life in Estonia by gestational age at delivery. The data is shown by year, gestational age at delivery (all gestational ages, gestational age <22 weeks, 22-27 weeks, 28-31 weeks, 32-36 weeks, 37-41 weeks, 42+ weeks, gestational age unknown, preterm delivery <37 weeks) and by procedure (all births, non-invasive respiratory support, invasive respiratory support, antibacterial treatment, surfactant administration, parenteral nutrition, phototherapy, resuscitation, treatment in a newborn intensive care ward, therapeutic cooling). Data source: Estonian Medical Birth Register (which is part of the Estonian Medical Pregnancy Information System register), National Institute for Health Development. The Estonian Medical Pregnancy Information System is considered to analyse the course of pregnancy, miscarriage and termination, and maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality, organize health services, develop health policy, evaluate diagnostic and treatment approaches, and conduct statistics and scientific research, including epidemiological studies.
