Definitions and methodology The data set for delivery related activities collected with the birth card has changed since 2020. See table 'SR64: Other procedures during delivery (1992-2019)' to see data of previous years.

The dataset shows delivery-related procedures in Estonia since 2020 by woman's age group. Data is shown by procedure (total, induced deliveries and subtypes, stimulated deliveries and subtypes, electronic fetus monitoring procedures, administration of antibiotics to the mother and subtypes, episiotomy, manual removal of the placenta, uterine cavity revision/abrasion, blood transfusion to the mother, and hysterectomy), by the woman's age group (total, under 19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40 and over, age unknown). Data source: Estonian Medical Birth Register (which is part of the Estonian Medical Pregnancy Information System register), National Institute for Health Development. The Estonian Medical Pregnancy Information System is considered to analyse the course of pregnancy, miscarriage and termination, and maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality, organize health services, develop health policy, evaluate diagnostic and treatment approaches, and conduct statistics and scientific research, including epidemiological studies.
