The dataset shows family deliveries and anaesthesia during childbirth in Estonia by woman's age group. Data is presented by year, maternal age group (total, up to 19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40 and over, age unknown), family birth (all births, family delivery, non-family delivery, family delivery unknown), and pain relief (total women giving birth, epidural analgesia, spinal analgesia, paracervical analgesia, pudendal analgesia, nitrous oxide, other medicinal pain relief, other non-medicinal pain relief, no pain relief used, pain relief unknown). More than one pain relief method may be used for a single birth. Data source: Estonian Medical Birth Register (which is part of the Estonian Medical Pregnancy Information System register), National Institute for Health Development. The Estonian Medical Pregnancy Information System is considered to analyse the course of pregnancy, miscarriage and termination, and maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality, organize health services, develop health policy, evaluate diagnostic and treatment approaches, and conduct statistics and scientific research, including epidemiological studies.
