The dataset shows the number of deliveries in Estonia by mode of delivery by the health care provider's county (Estonia, Harju county and Tallinn, Hiiu county, Ida-Viru county to Võru county) and woman’s age group (total age groups, 10-14, 15-17, 18-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50 and over, age unknown). Data is published by year, and mode of delivery (total deliveries, vaginal delivery, vacuum delivery, forceps delivery, caesarean section, including planned caesarean section, emergency caesarean section, urgent caesarean section, caesarean section after failed vacuum delivery, mode of delivery unknown). Data source: Estonian Medical Birth Register (which is part of the Estonian Medical Pregnancy Information System register), National Institute for Health Development. The Estonian Medical Pregnancy Information System is considered to analyse the course of pregnancy, miscarriage and termination, and maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality, organize health services, develop health policy, evaluate diagnostic and treatment approaches, and conduct statistics and scientific research, including epidemiological studies.
