The dataset shows the registration of pregnant women in Estonia, meaning the time of the first antenatal visit, by year. Data is presented by the woman's age group (total, 10-14, 15-17, 18-19, 20-24 up to 50 and over; age unknown) and the woman's place of residence, which may be in Estonia or abroad (all places of residence, Estonia total; counties and selected cities; county unknown; outside Estonia; residence unknown). Results are also shown by timing of registration (total; registered before 12 weeks, number and %; 12-16, 17-22, 23-27, 28-31, 32 weeks or later; timing unknown; did not attend). County refers to the woman's place of residence. Data source: Estonian Medical Birth Register (which is part of the Estonian Medical Pregnancy Information System register), National Institute for Health Development. The Estonian Medical Pregnancy Information System is considered to analyse the course of pregnancy, miscarriage and termination, and maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality, organize health services, develop health policy, evaluate diagnostic and treatment approaches, and conduct statistics and scientific research, including epidemiological studies.
