The dataset shows the number of births by hospital and the mother's place of residence in Estonia. Data is presented by hospital (including all births, maternity hospitals, and a separate category such as foundlings), mother's place of residence (all places of residence, Estonia, place of residence outside Estonia, place of residence unknown), and indicator (number of births and share in percent). Data source: Estonian Medical Birth Register (which is part of the Estonian Medical Pregnancy Information System register), National Institute for Health Development. The Estonian Medical Pregnancy Information System is considered to analyse the course of pregnancy, miscarriage and termination, and maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality, organize health services, develop health policy, evaluate diagnostic and treatment approaches, and conduct statistics and scientific research, including epidemiological studies.
